Andy

A young boy in a typical 50's striped t shirt stands in front of a huge piece of drift wood, stick in hand, with Lake Michigan in the background. Signed "Andy" in left bottom corner, Merizon '57 in the bottom right. Framed in a blue custom made frame.

Andy was Merizon's mentor and across the street neighbor during is youth on Bates Street in Grand Rapids. In spite of having many sons of his own, Andy, a commercial artist, took Armand under his wing and supported him in his dream of becoming an artist. The fact that the painting is dated 1957 depicting a very young Andy is rather a mystery.

The painting belongs to Andy or Mr. Andrews, daughter.
