Slaughter House Hill

Farm buildings at the top of a hill on a late fall day. Slaughter House Hill was located near the intersection of Hall Street and Plymouth in Grand Rapids, MI. Signed Armand Merizon, lower right corner. Most likely plein air. Painted at 20 years of age before his sense of composition was developed. The centering of the small building with balanced by trees and a barn on either side is not considered good composition.
