Franz

Charcoal and white chalk on masonite with varnish fixative. Rough sketches of the Merizon's first family dog, Franz. Franz was given to son, Mark on his birthday in 1970, shortly after the move from Grand Rapids to the country home near Caledonia, MI. He was a pure bred black lab who immediately ingratiated himself into the hearts of all the family members by his shear beauty and personality. He was to live 14 years, a long while for a large, stocky lab.
