The Old Hotel

Painting of an old hotel found in an ghost town somewhere in the western part of the country. The painting was made after a trip Merizon took with old friend and Hefner Gallery owner, Frank VanderMark in the mid 1980's. It is of the style of painting an image on a geometric background which is visible throughout. The hotel says "Home or Hume, Cafe and Rooms. The background seems to create an atmosphere of dry heat which is palpable when viewing. It is almost possible to imagine the quiet with maybe a hot breeze coming around the side of the old structure.
