René by Barbed Wire Fence

Study of daughter René standing next to a barbed wire fence along 36th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI. It was one of the many frequented country spots where Merizon and his family explored on a regular basis when living in the city. This street which is wall to wall manufacturing businesses today, was referred to by the family as Peter Rabbit Road in the 1960's. It was gravel with farmland as far as the eye could see. Merizon completed more than one painting of this subject.
