Andy

Early plein air painting. Approximately 16 to 18 years old at the time of painting Andy, Merizon's mentor and lifetime friend, CB Andrews. Andy was a commercial artist who lived across the street from the Merizon's in the '30's and '40's. They lived on Bates St in SE Grand Rapids, MI.Andy had 5 sons that my dad would play with but still had time to support and inspire Merizon in his endeavor to become a "working" artist. That kind of support was rare in those depression and war days. Art was not considered something that you would seriously focus on as an adult. As a working artist, Andy made a huge impact on Merizon's life.

Signed Armand Merizon in the lower right corner of the style of using the same M from Armand as in Merizon, a style he tried out as a teenager. "Andy" is printed in the lower left corner.
