Early Grand Rapids
Looking west from Michigan Ave and Division St in Grand Rapids, MI, around the earl 1860's.Merizon was commissioned by the First Reformed Church to create a painting of what Grand Rapids looked like in the very earliest years of the city. The black and white photo is of Merizon showing his commissioner the location from where he planned the painting. More information on the photo explanation.
