The Armand Merizon Collection 1920-2010

(Back to Catalog)

Half sky, half earth

One of the later paintings by Merizon. It was very common for him to cut a 24" x 18" canvas panel down to 24" x 17" and less. He preferred the proportions. This painting is a 2' x 1', a proportion that Merizon used often over the years. This is one of his very last. He signed the painting on the back. Not sure of the year but the signature looks to be anywhere from 2005 to 2008.
