Escaped Prisoner Contemplating BIrd
A young man with his back to viewer kneels on rocks watching a bird perched a short distance from him. The man has shackles on both wrists and his feet are very dirty. He is seemingly alone in a rocky terrain giving the impression that he has escaped and is wandering, possibly contemplating the freedom of the bird compared to his own situation. Signed lower left.
