This edition of the Love sculpture was made possible by the Frey Foundation and dedicated on May 9, 2018. Since its founding, the foundation has supported public art projects in Grand Rapids.

The first sculptural rendering of Indiana's Pop Art image was made for the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1970. Since then, twenty-two other editions of the work have been placed in cities throughout the United States as well as many editions in other countries and languages.
