A work in progress, this catalog includes free-standing sculpture displayed in public spaces in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Anyone may view these works at any time. No entrance fee required. Specific locations are included in each record. Most of the work is in the downtown area bounded by Michigan Street and Bridge Street on the north, Prospect Avenue on the east, Wealthy Street on the south, and Winter Avenue on the west.

Some works are outside that area including pieces at John Ball Park, the Veterans' Home, and a few other locations. Works at Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park are not listed here because most sculpture there may only be seen after purchasing admission. Nonetheless, we encourage everyone who loves fine art to to visit that world-famous collection.

This catalog does not include the many examples of architectural ornamentation and relief one may see on buildings downtown near some of the works listed here. Don't forget to look up as you walk.
